Constitution, without the noise.

Bharat Samvidhan reproduces the Constitution of India verbatim, and answers questions using only the Constitution's own text — every claim is tied back to the Article it came from.

Our sources

The text on this site is taken from the authoritative English text of the Constitution of India as maintained by the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and mirrored on legislative.gov.in and indiacode.nic.in. The full text is reproduced under Section 52(1)(q) of the Copyright Act, 1957, which permits the reproduction of any Act of Parliament and matter published by or under the direction or control of any legislature.

How the AI answers work

The "Ask" feature is strictly extractive. It searches the Constitution's text, ranks the most relevant Articles, and constructs an answer using only wording drawn from those Articles. It cannot invent legal opinion, speculate about litigation, or paraphrase beyond the source. Every response shows a confidence pill (direct, partial, or open) and links to the Articles it quoted. When a question can't be answered from the Constitution itself, we say so.

What this site is not

This is not legal advice. Reading an Article on this site does not create an attorney–client relationship, and we do not interpret the Constitution as a court would. For any specific situation — a case, a notice, a filing — consult a practising advocate.

Editorial standards

  • Text is compared character-by-character against the Legislative Department source.
  • Amendments in force are folded into the running text; historical wording is noted in footnotes where relevant.
  • The site is ad-free, has no accounts, and does not track individuals — bookmarks live only in your browser.
  • We do not accept sponsorship from political parties, candidates, or campaigns.
